Severe Weather Alert

Monday, September 14, 2020, 8:00 AM

Due to possible weather conditions produced by Hurricane Sally, Southeastern Baptist College campus will close as of 5:00 pm on Monday, September 14, 2020, and reopen on Monday, September 21, 2020.

Resident students who live within areas under evacuation orders, or that are expected to be greatly affected by storm activity should notify the Housing Office of their intent to remain in on-campus housing.

The greatest potential impacts to the Southeastern Baptist College area are expected to come from high winds, heavy rainfall, flash flooding, and possible severe weather including tornadoes.  Students, faculty, and staff are advised to follow official sources for weather information and updates on Hurricane Sally.

Administration is currently monitoring the severe weather situation in the Gulf of Mexico.  Any alerts to students will be sent through Populi.  We recommend students download a trusted weather app (for example WDAM Radar/Weather app, The Weather Channel app, or The National Weather Service) and enable location and severe weather notifications for quick and up to date information.

Classes will resume on normal schedule Monday, September 21, 2020.

Any student questions regarding classwork or online class meetings should be directed toward the class instructor in a timely manner, within the Populi system.
