Our objective for Christian Life is to seek to be the catalyst for maintaining and advancing the college’s commitment to the cause of Christ.
Our mission as a biblical higher educational institution is to glorify God by providing quality post-secondary education from a biblical worldview in a Christian atmosphere.

The school dress code (per the student handbook) will be followed for chapel. Additional guidelines include the following: no pajamas, swim trunks, flip-flops, or tank tops/spaghetti straps will not be worn to chapel services or shirts with inappropriate statements/advertisements. Hats are permitted but must be removed during Scripture reading and prayer.
Upon arrival, the student must check in with a Resident Assistant and sign in. Failure to do so will result in a student being marked as absent. Chapel begins promptly at 11:00AM and concludes at noon. Students arriving more than 5 minutes late will be marked absent. Seating is open for all chapel services. Students are not to sign in for one another, nor can they sign in and leave.
Streaming is available for distance learning/online students, ensuring they can be part of the chapel worship experience. Services will also be recorded, and a study guide will be included. The completed guide must be submitted by Friday at noon, two days they provide a written doctor's note, excusing them from participation. The same lateness policy applies to online streaming participants.
All students must respect other attendees and those who oversee the worship experience. Informal conversation and inactiveness will not be tolerated.
As a Christian College, we are committed to the spiritual growth and development of every student. We assume that all staff and students who make up SBC share a common understanding and commitment to biblical values, which unite us as a community.
At the core of our faith lies corporate worship. This forms the bedrock of our spiritual formation in our relationship with God and others. Chapel is not just a place for individual encounters with God, but a time and place where we all come together to learn the Scriptures, put them into practice, and exercise our spiritual disciplines so that we may share God’s love with others as a united body of believers.
Students will not be coerced or guilted into participating in worship during Chapel. However, they will be encouraged to make the most of this time and come with an attitude of expectation, a willingness to try new things, and an openness to what is shared. The more one invests in this time of spiritual enrichment and encounter, the more one will get out of it.
