In order to better fulfill our mission, Southeastern Baptist College is pleased to offer extension classes in Meridian, allowing our students who are unable to attend our main campus at 4229 Hwy. 15 North, Laurel, Mississippi, to still receive a high-quality education in a traditional classroom environment.
Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Meridian, Mississippi, Rev. A.D. Lewis, Pastor, hosts Southeastern Baptist College Extension, Meridian. Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:00 PM till 9:00 PM and are available during the Fall and Spring semesters.
Classes Currently Offered at the Extension
CE-132 – Evangelism
CE-132 Evangelism is being offered for the Spring 2018 Semester. Dr. Melvin Hendricks is the professor.
CE-132, Evangelism is a study made of effective methods of presenting Christ in personal conversation, with the discipline of converting individuals into the Christian faith. Special attention is given to the various concerns of the unsaved. A history of evangelism (and how to properly evangelize in the local church) is also emphasized. *Three hours credit.
PT-232 – Homiletics
PT-232 Homiletics is being offered for the Spring 2018 Semester. Dr. Melvin Hendricks is the professor.
PT-232, Homiletics is a study made of the principles of the preparation and delivery of sermons, with exercises in sermon construction and emphasis on the guidance of the Holy Spirit in the ministry of the Word. Attention is given to Bible exposition and preparation of sermons on entire books. Exercises in preaching are given in series in the classroom. In keeping with the theological position of the denomination which owns the college, this course is open to male students only. Female students may substitute a Bible elective for this course. *Three hours credit.
Dr. Melvin Hendricks is a retired military chaplain and Pastor of First Union Missionary Baptist Church.
In order for Extension students to be full-time, it is necessary to take some classes Online. Contact the college for information about how many additional hours are needed to meet the requirements for full-time and which classes in your program that are currently available.
