Coach Brad Phillips has earned a Bachelor’s degree from Williams Baptist College in Arkansas and a Master’s Degree from Emporia State University in Kansas.
He brings a wealth of experience to Southeastern Baptist College. His most recent service was as head coach at Morthland College(IL). There he restarted women’s basketball and played in the NCCAA Division I level. He embraces the challenges faced with restarting and rebuilding programs while leading them to success.
As a player, he played high school basketball at Maynard High School in Arkansas. He was a 2 time All-Conference and district player. He played college basketball at Crowley’s Ridge College (AR), Brown Mackie Junior College (KS), and former Ambassador University in Texas.
Brad started his career in 1998-99 as a student assistant under Tim Gardner at Maynard High School. There he helped lead the Tigers to a 33-7 school record and elite eight in 2A State Tournament.
Under his leadership during 2012-13, Southwest High School (MO) ranked among the top 10 in 3A with a 24-4 overall record. As a result the team became Ozark 7 Conference Champions, the Rogersville Classic Champions, and the Blue Eye Invitational Champions.
He has also served as Head Coach of Boy’s Basketball at Huttig High School and Cross County High School in Arkansas.
In 2014-2015 Coach Phillips was the Head Coach Women’s Basketball at St. Cloud Technical & Community College. The Cyclones earned a 18-9 school record and qualified for the Region 13 Tournament for the first time in school history. The Cyclones averaged 70 ppg in the MCAC South Conference.
He served as Head Assistant Coach Women’s Basketball at Colby Community College in Kansas under Brady Jasper. The Lady Trojans earned a national ranking of 7th among all NJCAA Division I programs while excelling in the classroom with a composite GPA of 3.41.
Also he turned the East Georgia College Women’s Basketball Program around from zero wins to an overall record of 18-12. The Lady Bobcats consisted of all freshman. Playing an up-tempo style of basketball, the team averaged 74.0 points per game and was second in scoring in GCAA.
In 2006-2007 Coach Phillips was the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Jacksonville Junior College in Jacksonville, Texas. The Lady Jaguars posted their second best season record in the history of the program at that time.
Phillips has worked several basketball camps including: University of Arkansas, Arkansas State University, University of Memphis, Southeast Missouri State University, Hendrix College, Don Meyer Fundamental Camp, Ambassador University, Ozark Christian College and Camp Pontiac in Copake, New York.
And Phillips has coached high school summer boy’s and girl’s programs.
